With an objective to solve the problem of personal hygiene and safety during menstrual period “Low cost sanitary napkin making” is introduced to the Changunaryan Community by ICA Nepal. Considering the low level of menstrual hygiene awareness and practice among rural women, the program aims to bring significant change in menstruation practices as well as help women generate income through selling these low-cost sanitary napkin. Local women were trained by Indian experts. The napkins are produced and marketed by the community women which will help to make the group self-sustainable. They are also trained on Promotion, Brand and Marketing for the proper strategic marketing of the napkin. ICA Nepal supported to establish this enterprise by importing machineries and raw materials required for the production.
