The construction of the toilet was implemented by the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) Nepal with support from the Institute of Cultural Affairs, Japan. The major goal of the program is to enhance students’ enrollment, academic success rate, and improve the relationship between the school administration and instructors. The project constructs the toilet of two schools, i.e., Shree Janta Higher Secondary School, Gauripur and Shree Janta Higher Secondary Technical School of the Siraha District.
Those schools’ infrastructure is poor and not enough facilities for sanitation and hygiene. The existing condition of the school’s toilet facilities presents a difficulty. Out of the three toilets, two were completely damaged and non-functional. The only usable toilet is shared by all students, including girls and boys, as well as the teachers. So, the project aimed to improve hygiene practices, increase attendance and improve community impact.
